Vietnam does not have a comprehensive data protection law at the moment, but the government released the draft Decree of such a bill in February, and hopes to have it signed into law sometime in 2022. In the meantime, there has been lax enforcement of existing legislation as the country awaits the new, much tougher regulations to take effect.
